What's with that heading?

When I was thinking about what to put as our header, I started thinking about what moments of time in our family are the most meaningful, and two jumped out right away.

Firstly, evening walks. One thing we love to do as a family, is go on walks after dinner. Sometimes the boys ride bikes, scooters, or skateboard. We push Mia in her car and off we go across the street where there is a quiet neighborhood on a lake. It is always a time of laughter, and chatting, seeing bugs, spiders, sometimes geese, and turtles, and in the summer chasing fire flies. On a walk recently, it had started to rain very lightly, but we decided to go anyway. Well about half way through the sky opened up and it started to pour, and thunder. We immediately started running, we were soaked by the time we got home, but everyone was laughing so hard. As we ran into our driveway a rainbow appeared next to our house. You couldn't have written a more perfect moment.

Secondly, bedtime talks. This is probably obvious to all the other parents out there. This is the time of day when everyone settles down, and you capture those moments of vulnerability. When sometimes the deep questions are asked, when there are moments you get to see deeper into your children's thoughts and hearts. Most nights we read the bible to them and pray together. Some nights settling down never seems to come, they are still so wound up from the day. But no matter how that time goes, there is always the big hugs and one more kiss, the stuff that melts any parents heart.
