Referral, Referral, Referral !!!!!!!!!!!!

We are VERY EXCITED to announce the referral of our daughter

We received the referral call yesterday from AWAA. They immediately emailed us her information, and from the moment we saw her we knew she was a Yeatts.

She is two years old, her birthday is January 4th. She has a heart condition called a VSD and Tricuspid Atresia, which she will need surgery for as soon as possible. We are anxious to get her home and get her the medical care she needs, but we know we are going to have to wait for several months. Hopefully we will travel to China in July or sooner.

Until our referral is officially approved by China we can not post her picture, but she is beautiful.

Mia's Surgery

My precious girl is having another surgery tomorrow. She is going to have her palate revised, which will hopefully help with her speech. She is also going to have surgery on her nose, to give it a little more shape, and open up her nasal passages which are very narrow. We of coarse think she is perfect just the way she is, and hate to see her go through more surgery, but feel it is necessary.

This girl loves to wear sunglasses she must own 5 pairs, but she has a hard time keeping them on because her nose is so flat - hopefully after tomorrow she'll be able to wear all the glasses she wants, I on the other hard will miss that flat nose.

I-800A Filed

Today we filed our I-800A, which is our immigration approval to adopt a foreign born child. This is the last step in our paperwork, before it can all be sent to China. We now have to wait for a fingerprinting appointment, which we are praying will be soon. If we get a referral soon, we want our paperwork complete so that we can travel to China as soon as possible. It will still take 5-8 months before we can travel, and I know once we know who our daughter is, every day we have to wait will be hard.

Why Adopt - Why not??

It is hard to believe it is 2010. As I look forward to this year, the thing that is most prevalent in my heart, is that in 2010 I will meet my new daughter Lilly. People often ask us why we adopted Mia, and why are we adopting again, I think this video sums it up.
